Westcombe Park Sealed off for cars Sunday 5th October

Although the Council has not notified any affected residents, Westcombe Park is expected to be totally sealed off for Vehicular Traffic for much of Sunday. Although this is billed as a half Marathon, the closure will last far longer than for the London Marathon, where southern exits are typically re-opened after an hour or so.

The traffic order shows that Vanbrugh Hill is to be exempt from the order – but the roads at the northern end of Vanbrugh Hill will all be closed. Greenwich Time (page 3) says Park Row/Trafalgar/Woolwich Roads will be closed from 07.00 a.m. until all runners have passed at around 14.30 Click on th map for greater detail.

The following buses will be diverted away from Blackheath Standard and seriously delayed:– 53, 54, 108, 202, 286, 380, 386, 422. Check with Transport for London for nearest bus stop/best route (bearing in mind that the DLR will also not be running)
